It’s National Beach Day, and even if you’re nowhere near the water, there’s something worth borrowing from beach energy: the feeling of being fully somewhere else for a while.
A good call can do exactly that for a caller. For the length of that call, he’s not at his desk, not dealing with whatever’s waiting for him after he hangs up. He’s somewhere else entirely, and that escape is a real part of what people are paying for, not incidental to it.
If you want to lean into that today, try painting a little bit of scene into the call, wherever you’d want to be right now, what it would feel like, what it would sound like. Give the caller somewhere to go for a few minutes. That’s the beach day energy, even landlocked.
