UK Government Ditches ‘Porn Block’

The UK government has permanently shelved its controversial “porn block,” which would have enforced age verification on porn sites. In a statement, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) confirmed that the government “will not be commencing part three of the Digital Economy Act (2017).” This act, which was dubbed the “porn block,” would have made the UK the first country in the world to introduce age verification laws for online porn.

The age checks would have required uploading a passport or driving license or purchasing a “porn pass” from a store to prove one’s age. After repeated stalling and rescheduling, the government has eventually ditched the plan entirely. The government has decided that its “objective of coherence will be best achieved through our wider online harms proposals and, as a consequence, will not be commencing Part 3 of the Digital Economy Act 2017 concerning age verification for online pornography.”

Jacob Wohl Strikes Again With Kamala Harris Sex Scandal

Far-right conspiracy theorist Jacob Wohl is back at his democratic smear campaign, this time targeting 2020 presidential hopeful Kamala Harris. He claims he has allegations of involvement in “a series of sexcapades” with Shawn Newaldass, a 26-year-old personal trainer. At a press conference, Newaldass took to the podium to share his story of “sexcapades,” which featured one encounter where Harris supposedly asked for him to “arrange a small orgy.”

Harris’ accuser claims they had a total of 11 “sexual encounters,” taking place in hotels in Iowa; Washington, D.C.; and New York City. During their third encounter, Newaldass shared that Harris had instructed him to bring “two Black males” to the Willard Hotel in D.C. Halfway through the press conference, a man appeared to deliver a cease-and-desist order, which Wohl claimed was from the Harris campaign.

Searches For ‘Joker’ Porn Are Skyrocketing On Pornhub

It seems the excitement for Joker has been seen at the box office and in fans’ bedrooms. Pornhub revealed that there have been 741,000 searches of “Joker” since the film’s recent release. Joker searches have dramatically increased, including a record 290,000 times on the porn site in just one day.

This is not the first time a comic book character has become trendy on the site—back in 2016 when the movie Suicide Squad was released, Joker’s girlfriend Harley Quinn also skyrocketed in searches. Pornhub’s 2018 Year in Review found that Harley Quinn was still the most popular movie or game character on the site, with ten million porn-watchers searching her name in 2018 alone. We can only hope the adult entertainers playing Joker can live up to the hype.

A journalist debunked the story within moments on Twitter, pointing out Whelly’s Instagram in which he claimed he got the scar in an accident completely unassociated with Warren. The journalist wrote, “The supposed ‘sex scar’ from Jacob Wohl’s accuser is just from a chain from a swingset. Asked about this, the accuser just shrugged.” A Twitter user laughingly pointed out, “Jacob Wohl’s fake Warren sex scandal guy has a Vin Diesel XXX tattoo.”

The President of Indonesia is trying to criminalize sex and living together outside marriage in an attempt to move the country toward stricter conservative laws. The country’s parliament agreed to the President’s bill, which they hope to become a law, very soon. “The state must protect citizens from behavior that is contrary to the supreme precepts of God,” a religious politician said.

As part of the code, a person who has sex with someone who is not their spouse could spend a year behind bars, if a close family member lodges a complaint. Same-sex couples will be heavily impacted by the law, as Indonesia does not recognize gay marriage. Additionally, unmarried couples who “live together as a husband and wife” could spend six months in jail or be fined 10 million rupiah — or $710 — equivalent to three months’ salary for many Indonesians.
