I thought, “I could do so much better than this!” And so I began writing erotica myself.

It’s both harder and more fulfilling than I expected. Harder because the devil is in the details. Writing about someone being fucked on the hood of a police car is sexy, but what makes the scene truly mind-blowing to contemplate is describing how the hood feels on your butt and thighs, how the breeze feels against your skin and what the police officer’s night stick feels like while softly swinging against the outside of your leg. And details like those don’t just manufacture themselves out of thin air. You have to close your eyes, get into the moment and then try to feel everything yourself.

It’s almost a zen-like sexual exercise! I’ve really enjoyed this aspect of the creative process and am interesting in continuing more of it here.
