A consortium of\u00a0women&#8217;s rights\u00a0organizations and community groups have been campaigning for Bristol to follow in the footsteps of\u00a0Edinburgh\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/the-city-of-bristol-is-waging-war-on-its-strippers\">impose a blanket ban<\/a>, but strippers insist exotic dancing has given them a better life. \u201cStripping has allowed me to have a flexible enough schedule to pursue my dream career while simultaneously enabling me to live a comfortable life\u2014not living in constant stress due to living from paycheck to paycheck,\u201d says one dancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Green party councillor Guy Poultney received a round of applause when he accused women&#8217;s rights groups of arguing \u201cwe should discount the voices of some women in order to empower them and to restrict their choices in the name of equality and take away their jobs for their own good.\u201d He added they were acting \u201cas if some women can&#8217;t be trusted to make choices for themselves.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-11061411\/Exotic-dancers-react-Bristol-council-votes-strip-clubs.html\">Following the vote<\/a>, the Bristol Sex Worker&#8217;s Collective said in a statement: \u201cIt should never be this difficult for a group of workers to not only have to defend their work rights but their humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you love exotic dancers?
